Graduating from the University of Michigan, obtaining a Master’s degree from Michigan State University and granted admittance to the distinguished IECA organization as a Professional Member, Jane has developed her skills and knowledge to become an outstanding college consultant. As a staff member for the Counseling Department at Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan for over eight years and completing the graduate course, Counseling in the College Selection Process, Jane was able to meet college representatives, learn about college programs and scholarships and evaluate the components that comprise a great application. Jane has traveled to hundreds of colleges and universities to familiarize herself with educational offerings and their collegiate environments in order to find the right college match for students. As an Independent College Consultant for the last 15 years, Jane has helped students successfully apply and gain admittance to numerous colleges of their choice.

JULIE GOULD M.A., L.P.C., N.C.C., Consultant

Earning a BA in English from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MA in Counseling from Oakland University, Julie has a talent for working with students. Julie’s career as an educator spans over 19 years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor and has completed specialized graduate coursework in college selection counseling. Prior to consulting, Julie began her career as an English teacher at Bloomfield Hills Andover High School before becoming a guidance counselor at Birmingham Seaholm High School. During that time, Julie evaluated hundreds of students’ college essays, assisted students with the college application process, met with college representatives from all over the country and led numerous evening college events for parents and students. Whether it’s editing essays or searching for the perfect college, Julie has a passion for empowering students to recognize and celebrate their personal strengths. Julie is eager to share her knowledge and experience with students as they make the important transition to college.

JESSICA FOWLE B.A., Consultant

A graduate of Kalamazoo College with a degree in English, Jessica has dedicated her career to working with students and families to find the right college environment for mutual success. Jessica brings 19 years of experience in selective college admission to her work with College Admissions Consulting, most recently serving as Associate Director of Admission at Kalamazoo College. To further confirm her passion for and expertise in individual college counseling, Jessica took the graduate course, Counseling in the College Selection Process, in 2013. She serves as a delegate to the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC), representing the interests of the Michigan Association of College Admission Counseling. She has presented about the college selection process at the state and national level. For the 2017-2018 academic year, Jessica served Kalamazoo College as the interim Director of Health Science, which allowed her to advise college students on Pre-Med and other health professional tracks, as well as prepare and advise them on medical/dental school applications and interview process. Her first passion is working with students and their families, and she is thrilled to bring her knowledge and talent to the CAC Team. JOHN B. BOSHOVEN M.A., M.S.W., L.P.C.

With three degrees from the University of Michigan, vast experience in high school college counseling, professional leader and award-winning author, John is a friendly and approachable counselor who has helped hundreds of students and their families find the college/university that’s right for them. John is Counselor Emeritus at Community High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, long-time Chair of the Counseling Department of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, where he currently serves as their College Counseling Coordinator. John has also served as President of the Michigan Association of College Admission Counseling (MACAC), a Director of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the founding Director of College Counseling at the Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro. Detroit and the Washtenaw International High School and Board Member/Secretary for the “Colleges That Changes Lives, Inc.” He has also served as a consultant on over 10 college/university Counselor Advisory Boards. John can assist with scholarship searches and essay reviews.
